I would like to introduce to you Mr Poirier, 14 days old. He did really good during his photo session. Check out these photos…
Thanks, Your newborn photographer in Cornwall Ontario
What a cute little man…
The perfect evening…
Yes, it was a perfect evening for Mark & Nadia’s engagement session. Not too hot, not too cold, a little breeze…just hoping their wedding day is the same weather. Mark is from England and Nadia is from Cornwall and they now teach in Thailand but the wedding will be in Cornwall. Got some great photos of the 2 of them…will get even better on the wedding day lol

Thanks, Dan
Engagement photos…
Recently took the engagement photos of Melissa & Justin. There super easy to work with so I’m looking forward to their fall wedding. Plus Melissa’s dad owns antique cars that will be used for the wedding so I should be able to get great shots with those.

Thanks, Roy Studio
What was I doing in Humboltd, Saskatchewan(population 5,000)???
Well I was attending a workshop given by Steve and Shelly from Utah who happen to be friends of mine. They usually give their workshops in Salt Lake City and I’ve wanted to go see them but there was always something with the dates that I could not attend. Luckily when they were asked to speak in Saskatchewan those dates worked for me…kind of lol Why was it in Humboldt? Well the girl who organized everything, Alison, lives there so the workshop took place there. She’s also a good friend of mine. We were about 30 photographers attending the workshop. All from Saskatchewan except me lol
Woke up Saturday morning 7am, got ready and shot a wedding that day. Finished the wedding around 7pm, had supper, downloaded the wedding, backed it up, tied up a few things and then started packing up for my trip ( clothes and all my camera gear ). Finally I’m all ready, it’s now 1AM and I’m leaving for Ottawa at 2:30AM, no use going to bed. Watched a bit of tv, took a shower and off to Ottawa. It’s now Sunday morning 4am and I’m at the Ottawa airport waiting for my 6am flight to Toronto. So I’m waiting for my flight and there’s a family beside me and all of a sudden the mom gets all excited and tells her kis: “Look, Kevin Costner is right there”, about 20 feet from us. Yep, Kevin Costner was on our flight. No I did not get a photo…It’s 5am in the morning, I’m half asleep, don’t feel like taking photos lol In the airport lounge or in the plane, nobody approached him…but a lot of the ladies were pointing at him lol
Back to my trip, land at 7am in Toronto catch my connecting flight to Saskatoon at 8am, land in Saskatoon at 11:30am but it’s 9:30am their time which is good because the workshop starts at 10AM. Only problem is I’ve got a 90 minute drive to Humboldt from Saskatoon. Had to pick up my rental car and off to Humboldt. Showed up at 1pm at the hotel where the workshop was taking place, ok a bit late because of GPS issues lol Workshop goes till 9pm that 1st day then off to the bar with the group. Stayed up till midnight ( 2AM Ontario time ). So I was up for 43 hours straight, shot a wedding and flew to Saskatoon and attended the first day of the workshop during that time. Lets just say I fell asleep pretty fast that night lol
Monday, Tuesday 2 full days of workshops and bar time at night lol Flew back Wednesday All of this with the sprained ankle from the week before. Still very sore but I’m tough lol
Here are a few photos from the workshop:

Steve is the one holding the reflector.

Now, Shelley is holding the reflector with Steve beside her

Learned some new stuff about lighting and Photoshop so the trip was totally worth it. Plus I got to see some of my good friends that I don’t get to see as often as I would like.
Thanks, Dan

On my way to the park, raindrops started coming down…not good. Mom & Cam were driving in from Casselman to have the photos taken but luckily it stopped raining and we were able to do the photo session.

Cam really likes to crawl lol

Wow, what is hot…
Monique & Mike were sure troopers for having their photos taken on one of the warmest evenings of the summer!!! Within 5 minutes of starting the session, we were all soaked from the heat and humidity but we kept going and got some great images. Thanks for being so patient with me and the heat that evening, I think it was worth it.
Thanks, Roy Studio
The Seguin family…
Recently went to take photos of the Seguin family. They were very relaxed and it was a great session. Weather was beautiful but the mosquitoes were out in full force lol

Weddings can be dangerous…meet my 2 new friends lol
Yes, weddings can be dangerous for photographers and I’ve made 2 new friends because of it lol. Last Saturday, I’m at the bride’s house taking photos in the backyard and did not see this hole that was in a patch of tall grass. Result…sprained ankle Put some ice on it right away, only problem is I still have the rest of the wedding to take photos. That meant that I was in pain for the next 6 hours so I could complete the wedding. I could feel my ankle swelling up but there was nothing I could do except keep taking photos.
Had to reschedule all my appointments that were booked for Monday and Tuesday so I could rest my ankle. It is feeling better. Test will be tomorow morning…3 hour commercial shoot at 7am
Hopefully things work out and I can work through the pain the rest of the week cause I’m all booked up.
Will keep you updated. lol
Thanks, the injured one lol
Another model…
Ok, Elysa is not really a model, she’s a teacher but she is a natural in front of the camera. Made my job totally easy. If you see a little resemblance with Dr Julia who I recently took photos of, your right there sisters. Julia was telling Elysa how much she enjoyed having her photos taken and how great they turned out so Elysa decided to come in for a photo session.
Lucky girl, the day after our session, she was leaving to spend a month in Paris taking a course. She will be seeing the finished product from France, pretty neat lol
I must tell you Elysa that I’m sorry I got you a little wet. You see, we went from having the sun to cloudy. Then you could really feel the rain was on it’s way so we decided to head back to the studio but I kept my top down on my car thinking I could beat the rain. Wrong decision lol We did get a little wet lol Thank you for being a good sport Elysa. I promise, next time I’ll keep the top up lol

Thanks, Dan
It’s so hot…
It’s so hot this week that I’ve had to reschedule all my outdoor photo sessions. In 27 years of professional photography, I’ve never had that happen before. I went out Monday night to do a photo session and within 10 minutes everyone was soaking wet lol It got even warmer so I knew that there was no way photos could be taken this week. Hopefully things will cool down and things will be back to normal.
Not yet…
Here is another photo from Natalie’s session ( the night we got rained out ). Were still trying to sync our schedules to be able to finish our session.
Thanks, Dan
Standard Freeholder Readers Choice Award…
For the 5th time in 6 years, I’ve had the privilege of being voted Cornwall’s Favorite Photographer. I would like to say a big THANK YOU for all your support in my photography business. I’m honoured to play such a key role in capturing the special moments in my clients/friends lives. Encore une fois merci Cornwall!

Cornwall's favorite photographer!
Thanks, Dan
A great couple…
Emese and Greg live in Knoxville, Tennessee but were in Cornwall to visit her parents. They booked me to get some photos of the 2 of them. When I got to our outdoor location, Greg told me he hated having his photos taken which I usually get from all the guys that I photograph for family or engagement photos. At the end of the session, Greg told me that he really enjoyed the photo shoot, it was a lot more fun than he thought it was going to be. Maybe it was the fact that he really liked my car and we did some photos with it lol
When they came in my office to view the photos, they were so impressed with my work that the earth was shaking…well kind of, we had the earthquake while they were in my office lol
Emese and Greg, I really enjoyed taking your photos, both of you were great!

Greg's favorite photo lol
Thanks, Dan
Sometimes rain gets in the way…
Last week, I was scheduled to do a photo session with this beautiful woman but the weather had other plans for us. After taking photos at this location, it started to rain. Don’t worry, Natalie is already booked to do another session in the next couple of weeks. More photos to come…
Thanks, Dan
Another family…
It had been many years since Chantal and her family came in for a family photo. They wanted studio but on the casual side. This is the result of that session.

Family photos by Roy Studio Cornwall, Ontario …
In today’s busy world, it’s very hard to get families together. That is why when Dr Nchama stopped in to see if I could do his family photo the next day, I was glad that I had an opening. I had taken their family photo many years ago and finally all his children would be in Cornwall for a couple of days. As you can see, they wanted a very relax look and feel to the photo.
Thanks, Dan
What a cutie…
Ryleigh came in with her mom, dan and grandmother. She wanted photos with all ot them plus some of her alone. Ryleigh just had enough patience for me to get the photos. Thank you Ryleigh!

Thanks, Roy Studio
Wedding photos by Cornwall, Ontario photographer…
What a perfect day it was for Cindy and Welby for their wedding! Cloudy, not too hot and no wind, you couldn’t ask for a better scenario for photos.
We did have a little incident with the Cornwall Police Department…Just kidding, we got lucky that an officer was driving by when I was taking photos of the wedding party in the street and one of the ushers knew the officer so he asked him if we could borrow his handcuffs and car for a few minutes lol Here are the results…

Cindy getting ready.

The boys having fun! lol

I think our groom is in trouble lol

The girls started acting up so the boys took care of them lol

Beautiful couple!
